Johnnie Walker Keep Walking Films: these are the winning short films

The first screening of these works makes the dreams of three talented Puerto Rican screenwriters come true

Johnnie Walker, the iconic Scottish whisky brand, celebrated the premiere of the Keep Walking Films Festival, an event marking the culmination of its regional initiative, Keep Walking Films, launched both in Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic.

The initiative was created to foster and celebrate local filmmaking talent, promoting authentic stories that reflect the island’s rich cultural diversity.

A total of six short films were selected as winners of this contest, and today, the three winning films from Puerto Rico are premiering on the big screen.

The short films will be screened at Fine Arts Caribbean Cinemas in Miramar starting September 12th for the general public to enjoy.

This festival, held at the Caribbean Cinemas theaters in Distrito T-Mobile, offered the public the first screening of these works, making the dreams of three talented Puerto Rican screenwriters come true.

The event aims to break stereotypes and highlight unique narratives through the work of Puerto Rican actors and directors. The short films presented were selected from nine finalists and nearly sixty entries.

The winners had the opportunity to develop, film, and present their projects under the guidance of mentors recognized in the film industry, such as director Mariem Perez Rivera and actor Amaury Nolasco.
